Preparation

Count all of your parts and verify everything is in your kit.

Step 1

Locate the 1k Ohm Resistors, bend the leads and install into the holes labeled R1, R2, & R3.  Then flip the board over and solder the leads to the pads.  Use wire snips to trim the excess leads.

Step 2

Locate the 10uH inductor. Bend the leads and install it the hole labeled L1. Then flip the board over, and solder the leads to the pads.  Use wire snips to trim the excess leads.

Step 3

Locate right angle header  and insert it into the holes labeled PROGRAMMING HEADER and solder the pins to the pads.

Step 4

Locate the dip socket and insert it into the holes labeled ATMEGA328-PU.  Flip the board over and solder the pins to the pads.

Step 5

Locate the yellow 0.1uF capacitors.  Install them into the holes labeled C1, C2, & C3.  Flip the board over and solder the pins to the pads.

Step 6

Locate the black/silver push button and insert it into the hole labeled sw1. Flip the board over and solder the pins to the pads.

Step 7

Locate the 2x14 Header, and insert it into the holes on the right side of the board.  Flip the board and solder the pins to the pads.

Step 8

Locate the red LED and insert into the holes labeled POWER 01.  Remember that the short lead is (-) and the longer lead is (+).  Flip the board and solder the leads to the pads.

Step 9

Locate the blue LED and insert into the holes labeled BLINKY 02.  Remember that the short lead is (-) and the longer lead is (+).  Flip the board and solder the leads to the pads.

Step 10

Locate the red FTDI  Adapter and plug it into the right angle header with the USB port facing upward.

Step 11

Locate the ATMEGA-328P and insert it into the dip socket in the orientation shown below.
